Let’s pretend that it’s not still summer and 90 degrees in Colorado. Instead let’s dream of pumpkins, leaves, and crock-pot meals. Some may be ready, some may think it’s too soon, but here’s what’s on my list this fall:
Fall Bucket List
We have a favorite pumpkin patch farm that we’ve been frequenting for the past couple of years. Make it a tradition with your family to visit and take home some pumpkins. Most farms tend to have vendors and free activities for kids. Also the perfect scenery for a photo op.
Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Am I too basic? I just don’t think I care anymore. Bring on the pumpkin flavored coffee!
Personally, I love Bath & Body Works for their 3-wick autumn candles. I could light one of those bad boys in the dead of summer and be transported to a leafy forest. Keep an eye on their website; they do some great sales on these candles!
Savory Pumpkin Dish
Pumpkins aren’t just for sweet treats; whip up some pumpkin or squash pasta. Get inspired here.
Make Pumpkin Pie
Not just any pumpkin pie; I want to make a really fancy one. Something with an intricate crust design, like leaves. Here’s my inspiration.
Fall Photography Shoot
Beautiful leaves and my favorite fashion season, get your fam dressed up and take some Pinterest-worthy pics together! You could even plan ahead and take as snap for your Christmas card.
Check out your city website (or nearby cities) for their fall calendar. Chances are, they’re putting on some sort of harvest festival, which means food and family activities.
Luckily for us, we live in microbrewery region, so we have lots of festivals around us to choose from. This would make for a fun fall date with your spouse. Get some good eats and drink some seasonal beer!
Where we’re at, our fall season tends to be on the mild side. I thought it would be a fun idea to get a spread together filled with seasonal snacks and dishes and take it to go! Find a sunny spot in the afternoon, lay down a big quilt, and enjoy some quality family time. Yes, bringing pie is acceptable.
We live within driving distance of the Rocky Mountains, so it’s definitely on our list to head up there within the next couple of months to see the beautiful jewel-toned leaves. Heck, I’ll probably even bring a pumpkin spice latte with me ( ;
