Let’s be honest, I’m a planner. I like to be in control and I don’t enjoy it when things don’t go according to plan. This excursion to go eat food truck food is a prime example of that; but I pushed passed those feelings and chose to find joy in the unexpected. Read on for the ridiculous food truck story:
First off, it took us ions to get there due to road construction which annoyed me, but I was ready for some freakin’ food. By the time we got there, I was HANGRY. Enough said. I had to wake Riley up from her car nap (she fell asleep right before we got there, naturally) and girl was not happy with me. After getting that sorted we finally made the trek to get some glorious food. At this point I was shaking and willing to eat a human if I had to. I ended up getting some loaded chicken nachos, which weren’t my first choice, but they did the job at filling me up. But wait, it gets better: a storm starts rolling in. We scarfed our food down, packed everything up, and snagged the popsicles we pretty much came there for.
So, an hour of driving to eat food really fast at a park for 20 minutes and then run to the car to beat the rain (while pushing a stroller and trying not to drop said popsicles while Adam had a bloody nose) AND drive home for another hour in the rain… *insert hysteria*
Despite the crazy, we got some pretty good laughs out of it and made a funny memory together as a family. These are the stories that I can’t wait to retell to Riley when we get older. After all, these are the moments we live for.
